Things that happened over many yrs.

My name is Janice, my dad used to call me Winkie, but who knew why? I was raised by my grandparents who passed away in 1991 they passed 4 months apart. Grandpa passed away first and then grandma passed away 4 months later and we always thought she died of a broken heart. She was a strong woman who took care of grandpa till he passed. The day he died she became a sad little woman who 4 months later she left this life to. I often wondered how could someone just pass away in just a short time after your spouse dies. They were married over 66 yrs. Grandma was raised in the mountains of Kentucky a place back in the hills. Grandpa was raised right across her on the other side of the hill. However it took 4 miles for them to walk to see eachother. Now if you consider the hills they had to cross and how the roads were back in those days. I try to imagine those days compared to the way we live now. It was people like our grandparents and parents and ancestors who help shape our country.
